Safety Drills
Safety is always a top priority at school, which is why we practice safety drills and review safety plans. Some drills, like a fire drill, are very familiar. Some others, a medical alert, for example, may not be. The following are the drills we practice throughout the school year.
- Fire drills are practiced monthly. Staff and students follow the evacuation route out of the classroom when the alarm sounds.
- Tornado drills are practiced at least twice a year. Staff and students go to first-floor hallways.
- Emergency ALiCE drills are practiced at least twice a year and we practice lockdown or evacuation procedures. As many of you know, the Oconomowoc Area School District has adopted the ALICE protocol as our response to an unsafe person/active shooter. You can click here for more information on ALICE.
- Medical Alert drills are practiced at least twice during the year. A team of school staff that have been trained in CPR and First Aid respond. This drill is practiced only by staff. Students do not participate.
Thank you for your support and should you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Attention 4th grade families
Dear Fourth Grade Families,
I would like to invite your fourth-grade student/s to perform at our upcoming Meadow View Dedication Ceremony for the brand-new Meadow View School. The date of the dedication ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in the new Meadow View Gym. The fourth-grade students will be singing two songs for the ceremony. If you can make it, please have your student dress nicely, and be to school by 12:45 p.m. that afternoon. Parents are also welcome to watch the ceremony in the gym and are welcome to join in for light food and refreshments afterward. There will also be an Open House and self-guided tours that day after the dedication.
Please RSVP to me by September 20th, to let me know if your student can make it to this special dedication and performance event on Sunday, September 29th at 1:00. I will look forward to seeing all of you there!
Sincerely,
Ms. Sheila Clark (clarks@oasd.org)

What is my child learning?
At the beginning of each reading and math unit, 5K-4th grade teachers will send home a family letter that will detail the goals of the unit. Teacher newsletters and Seesaw will be two other ways teachers will share what is happening in classrooms.
