THE's Weekly eBlast

Principal Message
Parents,
I hope that you had a wonderful weekend with your family! We look forward to greeting our student leaders tomorrow for a great week! Don't forget Friday, Oct. 7th will be an Early Release day, 12:40pm.
As we move into the fall, we have many upcoming activities. We have our first award assembly this month to recognize our students and their hard work pushing toward their goals. We look forward to sharing this celebration with our boys and girls.
We will have Red Ribbon Week Dress and Activities as well as Bike Rodeo. Let's have some fun while teaching our students safety, how to say no, and strong leadership skills.
We will also host our 2nd annual round of Learning Labs. Our labs occurred for the first time last year in place of school clubs for students. These are rotations during the instructional day to support various trades, careers, sports, hobbies, etc. We like for parents and community members to sign up to share their expertise in a specific area. These are great opportunities for students to learn! See the flyer below and let your child's teacher(s) know if you can help us on this day. Last year, we had Dr. Gottardy and Congressman Will Hurd here as well as adults teaching cooking, sign language, martial arts, and so much more. We look forward to having you here on campus with us!!
Here's to a great FALL!
Thank you,
Tara Bailey

National Walk to School Day, October 5th
Tuscany Heights Elementary will be celebrating National Walk/Bike to School Day on Wednesday, October 5th. We would like to encourage students to walk or bike to/from school (or to/from your bus stop) on this day. Our school is joining NEISD and schools from across the nation in Walk/Bike to School Day because it’s healthy, better for the environment, and fun! Since safety is a priority for our school and NEISD, please remember the following:
- - Find the safest route to school (e.g. sidewalks or paths that are separated from traffic
- - Minimize the number of street crossings and always cross at an intersection or where there is a pedestrian walkway.
- - If you are riding a bike, always wear a helmet and obey all traffic signs and signals.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact administration. Thank you in advance for your participation!
Support Johnson Orchestra
The orchestra will be having another fundraiser at BJ’s on Monday, October 3rd. Please help support the orchestra by going anytime October 3rd at BJ’s and bring the attached flier to the restaurant. 20% of the proceeds will go toward our program to pay for various costs accrued throughout the year that directly benefit our orchestra students. We will also receive 20% with any “to go” meals. See flyer at the end of the Smore message.
