Testable Question: What is the effect of the strand of lights on the burned out bulb?
IV: strand of lightsDV: burned out bulb
Hypothesis: If the Christmas lights are arranged in a parallel circuit then when one bulb bursts, the other bulbs won't light up.
Observation: I noticed that when one bulb busted, the other bulbs didn't light up as bright as they originally did.
Hypothesis: If the Christmas lights are arranged in a series circuit then when one bulb bursts, the other bulbs won't light up as bright.
Observation: The lights weren't that bright when there were all three lights.
Observation: I noticed when one bulb busted, the other bulbs didn't light up.
Conclusion
A parallel circuit is the best series to use for Christmas lights because the bulbs are way brighter than the ones in the series circuit and when one bulb burns out, or bursts, the other bulbs will still light up and won't quit working.
