Leadership Team message from Marg
Kia ora koutou,
A big shout out to everyone who has sponsored one or more of our tamariki for the colour runs [https://givealittle.co.nz/l/edendale-colour-run]. We know how much our kids enjoy this experience and it is a real positive for us to slowly be opening our doors for more parents and whānau to be with us here at school to see our tamariki in action.
The Tuakana Team went to the Bruce Mason Centre on Tuesday to see the Shakespeare play ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. It is great for us to be able to provide such experiences again now that we are getting back to somewhat of a ‘new normal’ in terms of going off site for experiences outside the classroom. Thanks to the parents and whānau who accompanied us and we hope you all enjoyed the performance.
As we know, the weather in Auckland is very unpredictable. It would be a good idea to pop a raincoat or warm jacket in the school bag every morning in term two so that if the weather does turn to rain, students are able to dress appropriately to walk home. If you lose any clothing, a reminder that you can always pop in to reception and have a look at lost property.
The winter season is well and truly upon us and we are mindful that the flu season is hitting many schools and hospitals hard. We would ask that you keep tamariki home if they are showing any symptoms so that we can all have a good chance of staying healthy through the next two terms.
Stay well, stay safe, and be kind.
Ngā mihi

Art Room request
We are looking for any handy Edendale whānau that could help by making these screens for us (pictured below).
Kus will provide the wood, just looking for someone with equipment or machinery to cut them out.
Email Kus if you think you can help kus@edendale.school.nz
Edendale illustrator
Toitoi Journals are journals written and illustrated by students aged 5-13 around New Zealand. Mikey room 27 has been selected by Toitoi Journals to do an illustration in an upcoming publication. The school will receive some copies for our library, so keep an eye out for them when they arrive.
Edendale performer
Congratulations to Orla room 27 who will be performing in the National Youth Theatre's production of Oliver!

Eyes on the skies this Colour Run Week
We hope that teams Aroha and Atawhai enjoyed the first Colour Run on Wednesday when the rain co-operated and stayed away. Unfortunately, the weather isn't looking great for the rest of the week so we have had to postpone Akoranga (rooms 18-21), Mahi Tahi (rooms 11-17) and Tuakana (rooms 24-29). We will confirm the new dates as soon as possible.
You are very welcome to come along to support your child (and bring them a white or black t-shirt if they had other things on their minds in the morning).
Racing begins at 2:20pm sharp, so come a little early. Early entry for parents is via the office & exit is via the back gate please. Remember to wear a mask.
Finally, there is still time to sponsor your child. We have raised a total of $9,400 so far and the Mahi Tahi team are currently out in front, but team Aroha is very close behind!! There is still time to catch them! Let's round it up to $10k - We can do it, every donation helps!!!!!
