Principal's Message
Dear Helman families,
We had a beautiful MLK assembly yesterday highlighting Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s message of hope and action for equity and justice. We viewed Kid President's video about Martin Luther King and teachers Kassie Smith and Trish Dorr directed a "virtual march". Our Helman Dragon Choir performed an inspirational piece of Nothing More. Please see the two videos below showcasing our students' voices from our assembly. Thank you to all who participated! These virtual assemblies continue to be a highlight of each month and I am so pleased we can continue "gathering" together in community.
As you likely know, The Ashland School District is preparing to offer more options to families as we approach metrics for re-opening. You should have received an email from our Director of Programs, Christine McCollom, that describes the hybrid model and re-opening metrics so you can make an informed decision about the educational model you are choosing for your child.
Additionally, our District sent an email Thursday with a link to a school survey for each elementary student you have enrolled in our district. Your response to the survey is crucial for our planning purposes so please complete the survey by 1/29. If you did not receive the survey, please check your junk or spam folder. If it is not there, please let me know asap.
Warmest regards,
Michelle Cuddeback
Principal (she/her/hers)
