Attendance in Distance Learning
We have had really strong attendance in these first two weeks, even with the challenges of distance learning. Thank you for getting your students on a school schedule and expecting them to attend each Zoom class every day, whenever possible!
Attending the synchronous Zoom class is the easiest way to be marked present for a class. We know distance learning can present challenges for families and if your student cannot attend the Zoom class, they can still be marked present for a class by engaging in learning on that particular date through one of the following:
- Attending the Office Hours of that teacher that day to check in about and start the learning they missed
- Completing and submitting assignments in Canvas for that class on that day
- Logging into Canvas and then communicating to the teacher about what they worked on that day
If a student does not attend the Zoom class or the teacher does not hear from the student in one of these three ways, the student will be marked absent.
As always, if your student is sick or going to be absent, please call the attendance office within 48 hours, at 541-482-1611 ex. 3104 or email sessceal.reynolds@ashland.k12.or.us
