The Carnival is Coming May 5.
Literacy News from Mrs. Porter
We had a wonderful turnout for our Literacy Night back in January. Thank you to all of the students and parents who attended!
Concrete is opening its very own bookstore!! The store will be open each Thursday morning from 7:20-8:00 in the library. Each week it will be open for a different grade level. The dates for each grade level to come and shop are listed below:
First Grade: March 2, April 6, May 4
Second Grade: March 9, April 13, May 11
K4/K5: March 16, April 20, May 18
All books in the bookstore are only $1 each! At this time, students will be allowed to purchase only one book per visit. This is to ensure that there are enough books for everyone to make a purchase. All money earned will be used to buy more books. Our hope is that all students will be able to purchase new books to help grow their home libraries.
March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Classes will be celebrating this great author by reading some of his books throughout the week. Ask your child which Dr. Seuss book is his/her favorite!
Reading Tip: When your child is reading to you and makes a mistake, gently try these 3 questions to prompt your child to figure out the word: Does that look right? Does that sound right? Does that make sense?
