The Magic is In You
September/October 2023
Mustang Families,
I hope this message finds you well and full of excitement for the start of a new school year. I wanted to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for your participation in our recent Open House event in August. Your presence and support means the world to us, and it sets a fantastic tone for the rest of the year.
I am thrilled to report that the first month of school has been a tremendous success! Our students have been diligently working on establishing strong learning routines and procedures, and they've been making fantastic progress in their studies. What's even more heartwarming is witnessing the relationships forming among our young learners, as they grow and support each other in our school family.
You are all invited to our an upcoming Family Night event. This special evening will provide a wonderful opportunity for you to engage with our school community, connect with other parents, and enjoy some quality time with your child. Additionally, we're offering a "Parent Voice" session during the event, where you will have the chance to share your insights and ideas on how we can work together to make this school year the best it can be. If you attend one of these sessions, then you will be entered into a drawing for Watiki tickets for your family as well as dinner. One session will be from 5:10-5:30 and 5:40-6:00.
Your involvement and partnership are vital to the success of our school, and we can't wait to celebrate these milestones with you. Together, we will continue to foster a positive and supportive learning environment for our students. We look forward to seeing you at Family Night and hearing your valuable input.
Thank you for being such an integral part of our school family!
~Mrs. Karn

Attendance Challenge
At the end of the 2023-24 school year, our aim is to have 68% of our students attend 90% of the school year or more. We believe that consistent attendance plays a crucial role in your child's academic success and overall development.
To make this goal even more exciting and motivating, we have come up with a fun and engaging way to celebrate our progress throughout the school year. Starting now and continuing each week, we will be tracking our attendance rates using a thermometer graphic. This thermometer will visually represent our progress towards achieving the 68% attendance target.
**The Celebration:**
We have set a special target date for our first celebration. If, by November 16th, we have successfully filled the thermometer to the 68% mark, we will throw a fantastic Hot Chocolate Party on November 17th, just before the Thanksgiving break! This party will be an opportunity for our school community to come together, celebrate our achievements, and enjoy some delicious hot chocolate.
We believe that this celebration will not only be a fun and enjoyable experience for your child but will also instill in them the importance of regular school attendance. Consistency in attendance helps students stay engaged, learn better, and build strong foundations for their future.
**How Can You Help?**
- Encourage your child to attend school regularly.
- Schedule appointments outside of school hours when possible.
- Communicate with the school if your child is unwell or facing any attendance challenges.
