Message from the Principal
Hello Prairie Families,
This short week at Prairie flew by! Our kindergarten friends spent time making Stone Soup today and learned all about kindness. The soup was delicious! Take a look at the pictures below. Our staff is wishing you a restful and joyful break!
Have a great weekend!
Staff Spotlight - Mrs. Cuevas
Hello! I am Molly Cuevas, the speech-language pathologist at Prairie. I am happy to be in my second year at Prairie Elementary School. I completed my undergraduate and graduate degree at UW-Milwaukee. My favorite part about being a speech-language pathologist is building relationships with my students and helping each one of them find their voice.
My husband and I were married in October of this year, so it has been quite an amazing fall! We live on the east side of Milwaukee together and really enjoy trying new restaurants downtown. Aside from that, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, cooking, working out, traveling, reading books, sports, and anything outdoors. I am looking forward to another great year as a Prairie Puma!
Wow can you believe it, it's almost December!? Where is the time going? We are planning a Movie night for all families on Friday, December 6th. We are planning to watch the new Grinch movie. We will have snacks, drinks and are going to have some small activities and crafts for those who are not interested in the movie. Parents are required to stay with their children. Make a family night of it and join us! Also we are starting to plan Puma Palooza (already, yes I know!)! We will be meeting to discuss what we would like to see happen. Please e-mail or call us if you have any questions or are interested in helping to plan.

More Art Room News
During this short week, the art room was converted to Mrs. Turkey's Costume Shop. Students dreamed up, developed & created different costume ideas to help hide their turkey from the farmer. Students created everything from bumblebee costumes to soldier costumes to mask the identity of their turkey in order to...SAVE THE TURKEYS!!!
On a different note, Art To Remember items arrived and will be passed out to kids on Monday, December 2nd. If you would rather pick your items up than have them sent home with your students, please email and let me know.
The Artists of the Month Award is back at Prairie again this year. One student from K-2nd grades and one student from 3rd-5th grades is selected each month for this honor. Students are selected not only for their artistic ability, creativity and craftsmanship, but also for their ability to model great behavior and kindness for others in the art room.
November's Artists of the Month are First Grader, Sophia Born and 3rd grader, Calek Smith. Congratulations artists! Watch for next month's Artists soon!
