2019 Online Registration

Parents/Guardians:

If you have not yet completed online registration in Infinite Campus Parent Portal for all students in your household for this school year, please contact Allison Runner at allison.runner@bgreen.kyschools.us or call 270-746-2290 for assistance. Online registration must be completed for all students at BGJHS by September 15, 2019.

WNKY's Emerging Leader of the Week

Congratulations to 8th grader, Brooks Geron, for being named by WNKY as this week's Emerging Leader! You can watch the video by clicking HERE. We are so proud of you, Brooks!

ICU Tuesdays and Thursdays

After school ICU, which provides homework assistance, meets every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the school year from 2:45-4:00 p.m. Transportation and snack will be provided. Morning ICU is held every Monday and Wednesday in the Library from 7:00-7:30 a.m.

Smart Card Sales Extended

We have extended the Smart Card sales deadline to September 13th. All proceeds go directly to help our students! Thank you for your support!

Washington, D.C. Parent Meeting

There will be an informational meeting for current 7th and 8th graders about the trip to Washington D.C. on Tuesday, September 10th at 6:30 PM in the Auditorium. The travel dates are May 28th through June 1st. For more information, contact Mr. Quinn.

Beta Club


Beta Club will have their first meeting on Thursday, September 12th from 3pm-4pm in the library. This meeting is for current members only. We will be discussing club service projects and convention. For more information, contact Ms. Newport.

Class Notes

Annual 6th Grade Trammel Creek Field Trip

6th Grade Science OUTSIDE! Thanks to several community partners for hosting the

BGJHS Streamside Field Day at Trammel Creek. Students learned about water cycles, fish and macros in the creek, soil and sediment, and also participated in activities to learn about recycling and sustainability. Click HERE to see a video! Students had lots of fun!

Band News

6th Grade Band: All 6th grade band students must own their own band book by now! Parents, please see that your band student has their own band book and are practicing with it regularly. 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band students should be logging their practice time in their band books. Please monitor your child's practice record/practicing. They are to turn this in at the end of each quarter for a grade.


Ms. Shores and Mr. Briley also host Morning Practice Time in the band room from 7-7:30 a.m. every day for any BGJHS student in band.

STAR Reports Mailed Home Today

Parents, check your mail this weekend as your student's STAR Assessment results were mailed out today. These results will inform you of your child's academic progress in Reading and Math. If you have any questions, please call or email your grade level principal (6th-Ms. Porter, 7th-Mr. Otto, 8th-Mr. Dempsey).

Girls Basketball Open Gym Dates

Open Gym from 3:00-4:30 p.m. on the following dates:

Players must have current sports physical to participate. NO EXCEPTIONS. Contact Coach Forrest for more information.

Swim and Dive Meeting
