Parent/Teacher Conferences

We meet with parents individually and hold conferences during the months of January and June. Conferences will begin the week of January 4th and are scheduled for every 15 minutes. Please look for your sign up sheet located in your child’s class. If you think you need more time to discuss your child’s progress, please let your child’s teacher know and special arrangements will be made. Each teacher has prepared a progress report card to be discussed with you during your conference which highlights their strengths and weaknesses. It is best for your child not to attend this meeting in order to ensure open communication and less interruptions. If you are unable to make your appointment, please call to cancel or reschedule. Conferences are not mandatory and are done upon request for the Firecrackers.

Gun Safety with Eddie Eagle

According to a news report, the number of U.S. children and teens who die from gunshot wounds has risen almost 60% in a decade. This is not a topic we like to talk about but the reality is that it does happen, and often not in our own home. Eddie Eagle is a great way to teach our children what to do and how to keep safe if they should ever come around a gun.

During the week of Jan. 11th-15th we will talk about the importance about the rules of “Stop, Don’t Touch, Leave the Area and Tell an Adult!!!” Students will receive a sticker, coloring workbooks, and watch a DVD featuring Eddie Eagle. In Anaheim Hills, we will also be visited by a police officer to talk more about safety rules on 1/14 at 10am.

Snow Day

On Thursday, Jan. 28, bring your scarf and mittens for a day of “snow” themed fun! We will have a fun day with a paper snowball fight, wax paper ice skating, and a few games of freeze tag!

Change Of Clothes

Winter has arrived and the weather can get cold! We want to remind our families to please check your child’s change of clothes in their cubby to make sure there is a warm set of clothes to change into. Please be sure to label all personal belongings.
