We love because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19
The annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States is almost here! From January 29 - February 4, St. Michael Preschool will celebrate Catholic Schools Week with fun activities that celebrate our school and our faith.
A few highlights include Church Morning, the Parable of the Sower, seed planting in our Tower Garden, preschool cheer and joyful songs with Miss Karen, lots of gross motor fun, and a spirit week of themed dress-up days (please see below for details).
We also hope your family will support our Catholic Schools Service Project for the Ronald McDonald House charity (details found below). We thank you for your continued partnership and for providing your child with the gift of Catholic education. God bless you and your family!

Please support our Catholic Schools Week Service Project Wish List Drive to help check off some of the everyday household and personal care supplies needed.
You can also print the Wish List in the attachment below. Please consider sending one or more items to school with your child the week of Jan. 30 – Feb 3.
We thank you in advance for your giving hearts!

LET'S WORK TOGETHER TO KEEP OUR COMMUNITY HEALTHY!
With the news reporting an uptick in illnesses like COVID, RSV, and FLU, we urge you to monitor your family's health. Your child should not be at the preschool if they are unwell or experiencing any symptoms. We understand the disruption caused to everyone's schedule when a child is home sick, however, we greatly appreciate your partnership and compliance with these policies as well as your open and timely communication regarding signs of illness in your household. Working together, we can do our best to keep our students, teachers, and staff healthy and learning in person.
PLEASE KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME If they develop one or more of the following symptoms: congestion or runny nose, headache, fever or chills, cough, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, diarrhea, or vomiting.
*PRESCHOOL RETURN TO SCHOOL POLICY:
- stay home for 5 days, and return wearing a mask for 5 more days, OR
- get a negative COVID test, which must be submitted to the preschool office (photo of the home test), OR
- get a note of alternate diagnosis from the pediatrician
*REGARDLESS OF A NEGATIVE COVID TEST OR ALTERNATE DIAGNOSIS, ANY REMAINING SYMPTOMS SHOULD NOT BE DISRUPTIVE TO THE CHILD OR CLASS.

Empowering Parents to Raise the Next Generation of Saints!
Parents, we know that raising children in today’s secular society is challenging and raising holy and virtuous kids seems almost impossible some days! Would you like to learn practical principles and time-tested techniques to help empower you to raise the next generation of saints? Join us on January 27th from 7pm-9pm and Saturday, January 28th 9am-2pm at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Cary. Registration is $20 per person or per couple. Lunch is included.
Leading and Loving explores how the virtue of chastity is developed in our children, helps parents be better role models, and empowers them to answer children’s challenging questions emerging from today’s culture – all while cultivating Catholic virtues and values. To register, visit www.familyhonor.org and click on Programs, or visit tinyurl.com/mve6fepx.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
Closings and Delays: Our policy is to assess conditions on St. Michael Campus and the local area to determine closings or delays at the preschool. We understand this may not always reflect weather conditions in your area or follow the Wake County School closings or delays, so please use your discretion when bringing your child to school.
Parents will be informed of school closings and delays via our Realm communication system. A text message will be sent to the primary phone number, an email to the primary email addresses on file, and a post to the Realm App. If this information needs to be updated at this time, please let the preschool office know.
On delayed openings, Early Arrival and Lunch Programs are canceled and children bring a peanut/nut-free lunch and attend from 11:00-1:00 pm. This later dismissal time may interfere with younger children’s nap schedules, so again, please use your best judgment in sending your preschooler on these days.
