STUDENT LED FAMILY GOAL SETTING CONFERENCES-Sept. 20th and 22nd
Dear Families,
We look forward to meeting with you and your child at our goal-setting conferences on Thursday, September 20th or September 22nd. This conference will provide an opportunity for you and your child to work together with the classroom teacher to set long-range and short-term goals for the school year.
Literacy growth and attendance will be the primary focus of this goal-setting meeting. Together, you will discuss and select a literacy goal. The meetings will be 15 minutes long and meetings are scheduled back to back. Please contact your student's teacher if you have not schedule a time. A home visit can be arranged if you are not able to attend.

The 7 Habits Overview
Habit 1-Be Proactive
To be proactive means to take responsibility for your life. Instead of being reactive and merely taking life as it comes, proactive people take initiative to make life happen the way they want it to happen.
Habit 2-Begin with the End in Mind
People who begin with the end in mind: • Plan ahead and set goals. • Are clear about what matters most to them. • Have purpose and meaning in their life. • Live by a personal mission statement. • Begin projects with clear objectives
Habit 3-Put First Things First
“I have the discipline to carry out my priorities, purposes, and plans.”
Habit 4-Think Win-Win
This is not the habit where I win and you lose, or where you win and I lose, or the habit where we both lose, it is the habit where everyone can win.
Habit 5-Seek First to Understand and then be Understood
We listen not only with our ears, but also with our eyes (looking for body language) and our heart (listening for feelings)
Habit 6-Synergize
Synergizing leads to synergy, where two or more people work together to get results better than either one of them could have come up with working alone.
Habit 7-Sharpen the Saw
It is to renew yourself in four different areas: body, mind, heart, and spirit.
REMINDERS
-If you do not have a PK, K or 1st grade student, we encourage you to use the west (orange and green) loop for drop off. This helps balance our parking lots so all students can be dropped off on time.
-Thank you again to every Ochoa family for your kindness and patience as we continue to improve our pick-up procedures. We had technical difficulty and worked with our pick-up software company to resolve the issue. We continue to have the expectation that families are in the carline by 3:15. Our goal is to finish dismissal by 3:15 pm in all three loops. Families that arrive after 3:15 will need to go to the front office to pick up.
-We continue to request that families do not use their cell phones to text or call once they enter the parking lot of all three loops. Signs will be posted in the next month as a friendly reminder.
Please don't hesitate to call with any concerns or questions regarding the procedures for pick-up and drop-off.
