Happy Thanksgiving!

Principal's Perspective
Happy Thanksgiving!
With a heart overflowing, I witness our teachers and staff welcoming and cherishing every student. They continually create engaging activities where every student thrives. During conferences many of you have shared with me the gratitude you also feel toward your student’s teacher. It is apparent that our Oak Grove staff intentionally creates tasks so student learning is clearly evident. These things are the absolute center of what we do.
Beyond that, our gratitude abounds:
- “When we focus on our gratitude, the tide of disappointment goes out and the tide of love rushes in.” Kristin Armstrong
- Oak Grove students showed their appreciation to United States Veterans last week by creating cards, letters, and a video honoring them. These veterans risked everything to protect and ensure the shared values we hold dear. (photo below)
- Student Council has led two assemblies and created four videos: Kindness, School Improvement, Native Peoples, and US Veterans.
- Every parent and student understands their reading level and has a clearly defined pathway to reaching grade level.
- Our Oak Grove Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is beginning – please join us on Wednesday, Dec 6 at 9:00 a.m.
- We are hosting our Second Annual “Festival of Lights” on Dec 16! (Details forthcoming.)
Many of you have already completed this; for those who have not, please give us feedback on what qualities, skills, and collective hopes you have for our students: English, Spanish. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me directly at 541-842-3366 or jay.preskenis@medford.k12.or.us.
