The custodial team at Venetucci Elementary including Mr. Brennan, Mr. Shoppe, and Mr. Torrez recently started presenting "The Golden Plunger" award to classrooms that keep their environment organized and tidy. GMS Computer Science Launch
Grand Mountain School kicked off its computer science program with assemblies to showcase what computer science is and why it's important. Lockheed Martin employee and Denver Bronco Cheerleader Morgan Yost spoke to students about being an aerospace software engineer and how she gets to program rocket ships. Yost told students they can be whatever they want including a dancer, football player, or soccer player, and still be a computer scientist. Yost helped the GMS cheerleaders teach the student body a new school cheer called "GMS Coding." Students also heard a special message from Hadi Partovi, founder of CODE.org, wishing them well on their journey with computer science.

Friendly Competition
If you remember at Convocation, we had a school spirit contest between the schools and sites to see who had the best cheer. Grand Mountain School was named the winner and received the traveling Mr. Scott Campbell framed photo. That didn't sit well with Venetucci Elementary. So they decided to make their own framed photo and have Mr. Campbell present it to them at their staff meeting.
