Week of December 14th - December 18th
Semester Exam Schedule
College & Career ~ Ms. Parker, Mrs. Dickerson, and Mr. Thames
The first semester is coming to an end! We will be having a comprehensive semester exam, therefore Monday and Tuesday of next week will be a review. Students will have a study guide to complete in class Monday, a review game on Tuesday and then exams will begin. The semester exam will cover all material; from presentation skills, growth and fixed mindsets, academic vocabulary, and all majors/colleges we’ve studied.
Please have your student check Google Classroom to ensure that all assignments are completed and turned in before December 16th.
Pre-AP Science ~ Mrs. Goulding and Ms. Mondon
Pre-AP Math ~ Mrs. Justice
It’s hard to believe that the first semester is already coming to an end! Last week, students started working on their midterm exam review in class. I was very excited to hear the conversations they were having and the information that they remembered from our previous lessons. This week, we are going over the review together to make sure they have a true understanding on how to solve each of the different types of problems. Students will bring their review home on Tuesday to help them study for their exam.
Accelerated Math ~ Mrs. Baird
Wow, we have made it a semester on this new adventure. I am very proud of our 6th grade Accelerated Scholars. They have faced the challenge and no one is throwing in the towel. They have one thing left to finish off their semester and that is their first ever middle school math exam. They will complete this exam on Friday. Yes, they do get to use their TI-N'spire and their mathematical genius to complete this task. We will review and try to have some fun in the middle of all the stress, this week. I will be available to answer any questions over the review during class and enrichment/intervention times.
Thank you for allowing me to teach your child. May you have a very blessed Christmas and Happy New Year! See you at Hillside in January.
STEAM Science ~ Mrs. Cornell
We are almost done with our first semester. This week is Semester Exam Week, so our schedule will be as follows: Monday & Tuesday ~ Grade Semester Review/Discuss and Review Games, Wednesday ~ 1st and 2nd period exams, Thursday ~ 6th and 7th period exams, Friday ~ 4th & 5th period exams. Students have everything they need in their semester review, notes and lessons to study. Please go over this information with them a little each night to help them feel prepared.

Our clay projects are going in the kiln! After they are fired we will be painting them while focusing on mixing colors and using analogous colors. This is the final project for the first semester which means we must review all other projects to prepare for the final. Each student will have slides to review. We will be going over the review as a group on Tuesday before the exam.
Beginning Band ~ Mr. Sypert
If you did not receive an email and a remind message from me on Friday December 11th we need to make sure that you have registered for charms and our remind service. Enrollment instructions can be found in our Google Classroom. Please let me know if you are having any difficulty with this.
The concerts were both successes and I couldn’t be happier with how our STEAM students performed. Please help remind them to continue practicing “post concert” and throughout the break so that they continue to improve!
PE ~ Coach Woolsey
If you would like to purchase an additional PE uniform shirt and/or shorts, please send your money in by Wednesday the 16th! It is $10.00 per piece. Friday the students completed their 1 mile run for the “FitnessGram” state physical fitness assessment. They did a great job...our “Monday FUN day RUN days” are paying off! This week I have games planned to end our first semester on an energizing note!
