Lakeshore Library Learners
January 2020 - Parent Edition
Welcome Back!
I hope everyone had a wonderful, restful, and reading filled break! Due to the holiday break it is a good time to check around the house for library books and remind your students to return them and get new ones to read for the new year. Also remember the importance of reading at least 20 minutes every day to help build vocabulary and reading skills. Students should be bringing home a good fit book (one that they recognize they can read alone) and one for fun.

Reading Rocktars
We haven't as much participation in Reading Bingo as I had hoped, so I want to try something different as a school wide reading program. I have an ugly, bare window into the library workroom behind the circulation desk that could use some reading love. I want to do a Reader Spotlight on there each month. If you catch your child reading snap a photo and email it to me at mloflin@iss.k12.nc.us and I will print it and put it in the Reader Spotlight window for the month. You can also send in photos if you would prefer.
