Teen Texting and Driving
How we can prevent it
Don't Text and Drive
More people are becoming familiar with texting, and texting and driving is growing as the cause of more and more car accidents every year. In 2008, there were 46, 492 car accidents involving 15-19 year olds. This is why many organizations were developed to prevent texting and driving. One of these organizations is called "Drive to Live", which educates teens on the dangers of texting and driving and what they can do to stay safe on the road.
How we can prevent texting and driving
Teens are the ones with the phones, but parents play the largest role in keeping teens from using their phones behind the wheel. If parents continue to prohibit their children from using their phones in the car, then it could help teens develop good habits for not using their phones while driving. Parents should also set good examples when their children are young to make sure that their children grow up knowing that texting and driving can lead to horrible consequences.
