Spotlight on Renée Kurilla
Andrea Brown Literary Agency Featured Illustrator: July 2012
About Renée Kurilla
Renée Kurilla is a children's illustrator and animator with a passion for bright color. She spent her childhood in Scranton, PA surrounded by stuffed animals and cartoons (which isn't much different from her adulthood). When she grew up she moved to Boston and earned her BFA in Illustration (with a Diploma in Graphic Design) from The Art Institute of Boston.
Currently, Renée is a Lead Artist at FableVision Studios which sits, with a spectacular view, on top of the Boston Children's Museum. She also shares a home studio with her artist fiancé and her fluffy cat, who ends up being a subject for many of her illustrations.
Renée's client work spans from picture books, including the I SEE I LEARN series (Charlesbridge), to YA graphic novels. Her most recent work includes the covers of POOL GIRLS, a new tween series from Simon & Schuster releasing in Summer 2012.
