TRUNK OR TREAT IS NEXT FRIDAY! 5:00PM-7:30PM. October 27th.

I hope that you are planning to be at the TRUNK OR TREAT next Friday with your family. Children can come dressed in appropriate costumes (optional) and go from trunk to trunk to get treats. There will also be games, a cake walk, bounce houses, bouncy basketball, a bouncy obstacle course, etc. There will be simple food sales as well. This is a family event, children may not be dropped off on their own regardless of age.

Here is your last chance to earn stewardship hours for the 1st quarter. Teachers need help with their class "trunks". We need donations of candy. We need donations of baked goods for the cake walk. If you send in candy, be sure to include your name and the receipt for or value of the candy. Baked goods for the cake walk can be dropped off on Thursday afternoon or Friday. Again, be sure that your name is marked on it.

Elementary Sign Language Tryouts Grades 2 thru 5

If you wish for your child to be part of the elementary sign language group, please email or send a note to school to Mrs. St. Vil.

Please be aware that students must exhibit the ability to listen and follow direction, be in good behavioral standing and must attend scheduled practices and performances.

Tryouts will be on Monday, October 30th from 3:15 to 4:15PM in the church. If you are not here to pick your child up at 4:15, he or she will be sent to OOS.

Cosplay Club is coming soon!

There will be an interest meeting on November 2nd for students in 5th through 8th grade and their parent or guardian who are interested in being a part of our all new COSPLAY club, presented by our very talented Matthew Harden. This club is limited to 15 participants and will conflict with athletic practice so it probably will not work for any student who is playing basketball, kick-ball or track. There will be a one time fee that will include some start-up materials. Please plan this into your schedule if your son or daughter is interested. Flyers are included below, as well as a photo of Mr. Harden and I with his most recent Cosplay creation.

MAP testing is a WRAP!

We have finished our first of three sessions of MAP testing this year. This test is really a practice test as students are learning about this test and how to take it. We will give the test again in January and again in May.

The Charlie Charlie Game

Parents, please be aware of a new "game" that is spreading through social media and youtube. It is a dangerous game. Children need to be supervised at all times when online for reasons just like this. Educate yourselves.

Boxtops for Education

Please begin saving and turn in your Boxtops for Education. For each boxtop turned in, our PTL earns .10 . It doesn't take long for it to add up to a sizable amount of money. Please turn them in, in a ziploc bag or envelope with your child's name on it as the classes will be competing for prizes.

Chapel offerings

Parents, did you know that our chapel offering support individuals and organizations that are local, national and international? Locally we support our own food pantry, Pass It On Ministries, His House Children's home, etc. We have supported many organizations that help natural disaster victims. We have helped build schools in Haiti and in Thailand. Our offerings this year have been very small. Please teach your child about the importance of giving and helping by allowing them to bring offering on their chapel day. Next week, this is Wednesday for ALL of the students. The following week it is TUESDAY for all of the students (Reformation Day).

Our lost and found is growing....

Each year I am amazed by the quantity of items that end up in our lost and found. The basket is in the office. I even have a pair of child's glasses in the lost and found that have not been claimed! Please label your child's clothing especially jackets and sweaters with your child's name. Also, make sure your children understand that it is their job to keep track of their belongings. If they lose something and it is not a big deal to you, it will not be a big deal to them either.

Please become our friend on Facebook and see school info and updates, photos, etc.
