Week 6 Term 4 SFDS Newsletter
St Francis de Sales - Tuesday 23 November 2021
TRACY'S MESSAGE
Kia Ora Ano
WOW week 6…I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend and got to spend special time with your tamariki.
Things are certainly buzzing around here…there is a lot going on – our wonderful year 8 learners are preparing to leave our SFDS nest and there are lots of ‘lasts’ currently happening! Year 8 dance…year 8 arts project…year 8 yearbook and heaps more!
Last week Sam R was the principal cup recipient. This is for service to our kura and the kindness he shows in all of interactions with his peers and kaiako. Great work living our values Sam!
It is anticipated that as we move into the new COVID traffic light system, from guidelines we have received from the MOE and MOH, there are further restrictions on celebrations and gatherings of whānau coming into our kura.
The end of our school year is fast approaching and there are going to be some changes to the way that we celebrate this. Being adaptable seems to be our new normal!
We are currently working through what this looks like for our kura and we will let you know once our BOT have met to ensure that we are planned and prepared for this system to come into effect on Friday 3 December.
Thank you for respecting our learners and our staff by continuing to scan in, leaving your tamariki at our gates and by wearing masks.
Have a wonderful rest of what looks to be a beautiful week!
Take care and nga mihi nui

PSL
PASTORAL CARE
As part of the PSL we have a small team that provides pastoral care to the school community. At times we need to provide meals to families in need and it would be great to have a list of people who would be willing to provide a meal occasionally that we could call on.
We would also like to hear from you if you know of anyone in the school community who could benefit from meals or any other help.
If you are happy to be called/emailed for the occasional meal, please send an email to psl.sfds@gmail.com and we will add you to our email register.
SAUSAGE SIZZLE
A huge thank you to Andy D and Martin PG who came and ran this event yesterday - we really appreciate your time! Thank you also to the families in Room 5 and 13 who donated the goods. We raised just over $551.10 and we have raised $3200 from the sausage sizzles this year! We really appreciate everyone who has supported these fundraisers.
GARDEN TO TABLE
The Garden to Table volunteers would love a set of kitchen scales and a rubber spatular if anyone has any unsed ones at home. These can be left at the school office.
