Monday Message
From the desk of Dr. Harrell

May 2, 2022
It is Teacher Appreciation Week! I can hardly believe today is May 2, and the last month of the school year with still so much to do. Although with much to do, miraculously, teachers always get things done. It's either part of the teacher's DNA, possibly their magic, and perhaps a little of both.
Teachers have always made a difference, and I am sure you reflect upon the teachers that meant so much to you. Today's teachers have endured so much over the last couple of years yet continue to love and support our students. In today's world, there is so much hustle and bustle in our lives that people find it difficult to find purpose and make a difference. I do know teachers make a difference. They plan and prepare differently from everyone else. They are positive and instill hope in the lives of so many.
If anyone tells you that one person is too small or insignificant to make a difference, I tell you they are wrong. Teachers, especially our teachers, make a difference, and my thought turns to 'Wow' what a huge opportunity to positively impact and grow students, their futures, and our world's future. In an interview the other day, I heard one person say that just one person is insignificant. It takes a large group to influence people. The responder disagreed, stating, "Have you ever tried to fall asleep with a little mosquito in your room at night?" – I'm not saying teachers sound or act like mosquitos, not at all, teachers are much more influential and persistent than a mosquito, but point taken.
Teachers, thank you for what you do and the incredible impact you have on our students. Find a few minutes to rest and put your feet up. Remember, you are a blessing to so many.
I believe in U!
Stay Loyal and True!
Always Rep the U!
