Message From Principal Webb
Hello families-
This newsletter is full of information about happenings at Longfellow!
We will celebrate City High's Homecoming next week with Spirit Week. See below for our fun themed days. We might even have a surprise visit from the City High Drumline!! The PTA will be participating in the City High Parade on Wednesday, Sept. 25th if you and your student want to join!
On October 8th the PTA will be hosting an informational Night on School Safety/PBIS Expectations. This will be a free event with food provided. We will also have an ELL Informational Night right before this event. Longfellow will be hosting different informational nights instead of the traditional back to school night this year.
Finally, we are hoping to create a display to celebrate Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month. If you have any items from Mexico or Central America that you think might fit in well and that you would be willing to have in the display please let the office know!
Sincerely,
Kelli Webb

Weekend Food Program
We participate in a program called The BackPack Program. This is a partnership between HACAP Food Reservoir and the Iowa City Community Schools. This program provides a food pack of kid-friendly, non-perishable food for children on the weekends and during school breaks. This is a FREE program, without cost to families. It is also kept completely confidential – only the Student Family Advocate (SFA) will be aware of participating families. If this would be helpful for you and your children, please return the form sent home this week with your child to Amanda Mosley (SFA) or fill out the below google form.
