Spirit Shirt Design Voting
There is a competition between art students to design this year’s spirit shirt, and students and staff are invited to vote on their favorite. The options are on display on the glass doors outside the boardroom. You can cast your vote in the voting box below the display. Write your name and the number of the design you want to see on this year’s spirit shirt.
Monthly Movie Night: Monster’s Inc.
High School Book Club will host a monthly movie night one Tuesday a month in the library to raise money to buy book club shirts and purchase books for the school library. Admission to movie night will be $1 and drinks and snacks are $1 each at the door. Students and staff will not need to purchase admission to buy refreshments. September 25th’s movie is Pixar’s Academy Award-winning classic, Monsters, Inc.
Free Dress Fridays
There will be announced free dress days over the next few weeks. Attire is T-shirt and jeans only. No obscene images or wording on shirts. Jeans must follow the pants expectations (no rips, tears, joggers, and/or skinny jeans or pants).
September 27th Last Thursday Open Mic Night
Thursday, September 27th, High School Book Club will host the first Last Thursday Open Mic Night of the school year. The event brings out some of the brightest talents in the school, including freestyle rap, singers, stand-up comedy, improv comedy, dramatic interpretations, and poetry and fiction readings and recitations. Book Club will sell chips, cookies, and drinks for $1 each and proceeds will help purchase club discussion books.
Special Programs Parent Information and Bingo Night
Parents are invited to learn about our Title I, English as a Second Language, Gifted and Talented, and Special Programs offered at the school on Thursday, September 27th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. All parents, students, and family members are welcome. Bingo and prizes will be available for students and children!
Pencil and Pen Sales in the Library
The school is selling pens and pencils in the library for 25¢ each. Students are allowed to buy blue and black ink pens and wooden #2 pencils, some of which are decorative, from the library during passing periods and before school (7:52 a.m. - 8 a.m.). The money raised from these sales will be used to buy new library books.
GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) Screening
Referral forms for gifted and talented screenings are available at the front office and on the school’s website. The forms must be returned to the front office by Friday, September 28th. The assessment period will begin on Monday, October 1st.

2018-2019 Athletics:
Volleyball Club: Starts September 17th and will be played until the end of the first 9 weeks; will be played on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:45 - 5 pm
Basketball Club: Have a meeting October 12th; Will be played through the second 9 weeks and the third 9 weeks; will be played on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:45 - 5 pm
Boys and Girls Soccer Teams: We will have a mandatory meeting September 20th from 4 - 5 pm covering our expectations. All interested soccer athletes must attend with a parent!
