Mr. O'Connell's Weekly Updates

3-12-21

Cereal Challenge success

Thanks for the successful cereal box challenge! We collected 1,153 boxes of cereal to benefit the food pantry at Cedar Hills and the rest was donated to HACAP Food Reservoir here in town. Thanks to all for your generosity.

Arrival and Dismissal

A phone message was sent out last week regarding being patient as you are picking up or dropping off students at school. Please make sure you are not parking and getting out of your car in the horseshoe as this creates a mess for the flow of traffic. We will be out there in the afternoon to help create 2 lines of traffic so that we can keep the flow moving, we ask that you do not create a third lane as this only makes the flow stagnate.

There is no parking on Atwood on the west side of the school for the bus lane.

Thanks again for your continued patience and support to keep ALL of our children safe at arrival and dismissal.

West Willow Colors and Mascot chosen

It has been a busy couple of weeks at Coolidge with Mr. O'Connell going into each classroom and getting ideas from students and staff about the new mascot and colors for West Willow. We had an enormous list and our staff narrowed the list last week and this week all students and staff got to participate in a Google Form to vote for their choice!

Our new mascot will be a wolf and our colors will be electric blue and neon green! See the link her for the slide presentation from our Google Meet announcements this morning!

Health Guidelines

We have had a great two weeks back in school! Just a reminder to continue to let us know here in the office if your child has been exposed to someone with the virus or if there is someone in the house with the virus Updated district guidelines

We appreciate you contacting the Nurse (ctrautman@crschools.us or stjohnson@crschools.us) or Mr. O'Connell (goconnell@crschools.us) if you have been exposed or have tested positive for the virus while on break. This just keeps us informed and also helps to keep everyone healthy in return from break.
