Message From the Principal
Dear Families,
It's been a great first two weeks at Collins Bay! Thank you for your patience with our pacing project - I am happy to tell you that as of Monday, our new rear parking lot is ready for action! Parents should now use this parking lot as their drop-off and pick-up location. Please be mindful not to block the bus traveling zones, and to only use the marked parking spots. Walkers will now return to entering the yard and leaving at the end of the day through the gate beside the Gym on the east side of the school.
Also as of Monday, we've been asked to slightly re-organize our classes. All of the families affected by any changes have already been contacted. Our new classroom organization is as follows:
JK/SK: Brianna Hurteau (Jasvir Benipal - ECE)
Grade 1/2/3: Rima Hamilton
Grade 3/4/5: Valerie Boyce & Maggie Bailey
Grade 6/7/8: Louise Corsi
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Aaron West

Threat/Risk Assessment Notification and Process
The Limestone District School Board and community partners are committed to making our schools safe for students and staff. As a result, schools will respond to all student behaviours that pose a potential risk to other students, staff, and members of the community. The Community Violence Threat Risk Assessment Process is designed to be proactive in developing intervention plans that address the emotional and physical safety of those involved. A Threat/Risk Assessment is initiated by the school administration or community partners when behaviours have been identified by staff or students that pose a potential risk to self and/or others. Please note: it is important for all parties to support the Violence Threat Risk Assessment Process. However, if for some reason there is a reluctance to participate in the process, by the student of concern or parent/guardian, the threat assessment process will continue in order to ensure a safe and caring environment for all. Families are asked to review the steps of a Threat/Risk Assessment online at http://bit.ly/LDSBthreatassessment.

SAFE ARRIVAL ATTENDANCE SYSTEM
How to report a student absence using SafeArrival
There are three ways you can report your student’s absence in advance:
1. Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger blue app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store or from School Messenger website or you can select it from within the LDSB mobile app. The first time you use the app, select Sign Up to create your account. Make sure you use the same email address your child’s school has on file. If you do not use that same email address, you will not be able to create an account. You may have already created an account when we introduced the Communicate broadcast system. Select Attendance, then Report an Absence.
2. Use the School Messenger website. The first time you use the website, select Sign Up to create your account. Please ensure you use the same email address your student’s school has on file. If you do not use that same email address, you will not be able to create an account. You may have already created an account when we introduced the Communicate broadcast system. Select Attendance then Report an Absence.
3. Call 1-855-257-9349 toll-free to report an absence using the automated phone system.
***Please do not call the school directly to report your student's absence***
