Sea Lion Cove
Premier Edition - Fall/November 2018
Renovations are happening!
by Lucas Moscoso-Leon & Takoda Paschel
Yes, you heard me right. Near the portables, there is a construction area that is being prepared for the renovations. We are seeing the start of a great change at the school!
We asked Mr. Yockel about the matter and he responded by saying, “The ground is getting prepared for 22 new portables that will be used as classrooms.”
As much as we like our own portables, they are getting old and they need a change. Also, he said, “Once the renovations are done, 8 of the portables will stay and the old ones will be moved away.”
We will continue to keep Sea Lions updated on our new campus!
NJHS hosts Hurricane Michael relief drive by Lazarhya Wright
This year we were lucky enough to not get hit by a hurricane, but unfortunately the Florida panhandle had a drastic impact on their environment. NJHS would like to help out some of the people affected, so we will be doing a relief drive to collect vital resources such as soap, flashlights, batteries, water, toothpaste, brushes, deodorant, etc. If you would like to help, this will be going on November 5th - November 27th. You can drop your things off to the front office or portable 5 which is Ms. Coan’s room. These people really need our help, so let’s work together and give them what they need!

Walk-a-thon
Hello Sea Lions, did you have a blast at the Walk-a-Thon?
Well here are some fun facts about the Walk-a-Thon. With the help of the Sea Lions, we were able to raise over $10,000! Did you know the most popular things at the Walk-a-Thon were the Kona Ice, Shout outs, the music, and the inflatables? This years Walk-a-Thon was one of the most successful yet. They provided a bigger variety of games, better prizes, one of the best organized Walk-a-Thons, and more students attended. Also, according to students and teachers we interviewed it was the most fun out of all the ones they went to.
Step Performances
At the walk-a-thon the steppers made a great first performance of the school year. According to some steppers it was a great opportunity for the steppers because they did not have to get chosen to perform. The performance was most likely the best yet.
