Oh! The Places You'll Go!

2015-2016 LVES Weekly Staff Newsletter

Week of December 9 - 11, 2015

Tier 2 Meetings Rescheduled

I am rescheduling the Tier 2 meetings from Thursday until we return in January.

If you need a sub after 4:00 pm

Don't forget to text Christine and me to let us know that you are going to be out and the school day is already over. You will need to still put the absence into Aesop, but a text to both us gives us a heads before the next morning to check to make sure all vacancies are filled.

Speaking of Aesop...please put your absence (both personal and sick) into Aesop as soon as you know you are going to be out. This gives the system plenty of time to find a substitute. If you have any questions about Aesop, please talk with Christine or Paul Hunt.

PLC's this week...

Keep doing what you're doing...building assessments and talking data!

Electronic Signatures on Observations

Don't forget to electronically sign your observations, once your appraiser makes it available to you. By signing the observation, you are acknowledging that you received your feedback in a timely manner. We are seeing some great things in classrooms!

December Door Decorating Contest

December's character trait is Caring, and the district is having a door decorating contest to showcase our caring spirit. The rules of the contest are simple...have your students (not parents) decorate your door showing ways they care. Doors must be complete by December 15th at 4:00. Judging will take place on December 16th, and the winners will receive a pizza party in January. Happy decorating!

Seussical Performance

The Seussical show will be coming to us on Friday, December 11th at 9:30 am. This is a change in plans from us traveling to the PAC on December 10th and 11th. Christine will make an announcement to release grade levels to go to cafeteria to get settled before the show starts. Please review assembly expectations with your students before next Friday, since this will be our first assembly of the year:-)

Maintenance Form in Eduphoria

Our Tech department has created a maintenance request form in Eduphoria to handle any maintenance request that you have. Please use this form, instead of emailing Christine and Mark, if you need maintenance to address an issue in your classroom. If it's an emergency, like water gushing out of a sink or bathroom, please call the front office:-) You will find the form under the HelpDesk tab in Eduphoria.

Early voting on the TRE ends on December 9th. Don't forget to exercise your right to vote and take advantage of early voting. Let us know if you need class coverage to go vote.

Faculty Holiday Party

The date is getting close...are you excited?

Where: Spotlight Karoake Bar

Cost: $5/person if you are coming early at 7:00 pm for singing and food

Just because I am slightly competitve, I would like elementary to have the biggest number of staff show up:-)

Please pay Christine your $5 between now and December 10th. She will issue you a receipt when you pay. Can't wait to hear some singing talent!

Weekly Attendance Goal

The attendance goal for the week of December 3rd was 95%. This included Monday and Tuesday's attendance percentage from Thanksgiving week. So, we didn't reach our weekly goal this week, but we will be on track to reach our goal next week.

The gauntlet has been thrown down...if we reach 97% or higher at the end of the 2nd nine weeks, I will have to kiss a pig.

Weekly Quote

In the spirit of the holidays, instead of a weekly Dr. Seuss quote, I am going to include clips from my favorite holiday movie...ELF!

Today's clip shows a very useful way to put the star on the top of your Christmas tree...
