Roberson's Revolution Report

What's happening in Texas

Revolution Update

General Cos marched to Texas, planning to arrest all Texan leaders and bring them to Mexico in chains. Gonzales -- The Lexington of Texas -- was where the first major skirmish between Mexico and Texas began. A Mexican Cavalry headed toward San Antonio, which was thought to be carrying silver. However, Texans were disappointed because the soldiers had bags of grass, not silver; causing a skirmish called "The Grass Fight." Ben Milam, an Empresario, marched to San Antonio to attack and take it. Finally, the Convention of 1836 declared Texas Independence.
