Come join us on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Preschoolers and an adult are invited for stories and activities.

Juggling Show

Tony Roark was fantastic! Children and adults alike enjoyed Tony and his juggling. This was one of the most popular programs at Decatur. It was enjoyed by 62 patrons!


Critter Chats

This was a very popular program with children and adults alike. We like to Thank Amanda from Animalia, Inc for a wonderful job! Some of the animals for Chats included: Glass lizard, pyxie Snake, Dog, Cat, Prairie Dog and Madagascar Cockroach

Paws To Read

Saturday, Aug. 10th 2013 at 4pm

Paws to read is a program that allows children to read one on one with a dog. This give children who might not otherwise find confidence to read to an adult but builds confidence to read out lound.

Each child will read fifteen minutes with a dog. The first session will take place August 21, 2013 @ 1:30 this event quiz registration. The dogs in this program have been vetteted and has the required vaccinations and training to be involved in this program.

Ebook Tinker Station

Patrons are invited to learn how to select and use eReaders, as well as search and download materials from the Library's extensive collection of eBooks, audiobooks and digital music. Patrons can drop in anytime during this two-hour visit by the Library's traveling eBook Tinker Station, which is staffed by an eReader expert who can answer questions about the equipment and collection.

The Station provides reliable and unbiased information about this growing technology. The Tinker Helpline is also available to call for answers to your questions at 275-4500. This service is made possible by The Indianapolis Foundation Library Fund and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.

Digital Littles

The Indianapolis Public Library uses the Digital Littles Mobile Lab to present technology-enriched storytimes to preschool children. Each program incorporates a traditional story with an interactive digital experience.
