There truly is something special when Fathers and Sons get time together for some male bonding. The Sward PTA organized a Father/Son Event at Hollywood Park on Saturday, November 12th. Our young men from Sward and their Dads enjoyed a day filled with arcade games and minigolf but more than anything just the quality time spent together.
On Friday November 18, Hometown Kindergartners invited their friends and family to a Thanksgiving feast. We have so much to be thankful for this year and Kindergarteners wanted to express their thanks through song and food. The program began with two songs "5 Little Turkeys" and "Mr. Turkey."

One method they worked on while reading was the role of metacognition while reading. When reading this has helped them think about what they are reading and how to apply it in their discussions.
Last week, our 8th grade OLHMS Students had an amazing opportunity to gain more insight about their future high school. Last Wednesday and Thursday, 8th grade students learned more about their potential future high school.
Last Thursday was a special day one of our lucky second graders, because she got to be the principal for a day with Mrs. McGovern! After each trimester, we do a special raffle for prize baskets that are put together by Miss Turek.
On Friday, Kolmar PTA hosted their annual Winter Craft Night. There were multiple craft stations spread out throughout the school. There was even a wrapping station for students to wrap their completed crafts to use as gifts! The crafts were awesome and so creative! Students made ornaments, snowflakes, trees, and so many other fabulous things.
