Online Citizenship

Why it's important to be responsible online

Basic Responsibility

When you go online, there are few boundaries, so you need to be careful about what you do. Don't click on links unless you know for a fact what they go to. Never give out bank information or your social security number. If someone asks you for personal information, report them.

(Not to be confused with scam) Never give your email address to ANYONE that you don't know personally. They could give it out to other people and spam your emails with random advertisements and viruses.

The Good Side of the Internet

Online, once again, there are no boundaries. But that doesn't just mean that you have to be careful. It means that there is an unlimited amount of knowledge quite literally at your fingertips. Not only can you have easy help with projects, there are millions, if not billions of games online that you can play for absolutely free. Easy entertainment and boundless knowledge. Now that is an amazing part of the internet.

Social Media

Social media can help you connect with people across the world. It can be harmful, due to cyber bullying, but for the most part it helps. Just be respectful, think before you hit enter, and overall just be nice and social media can change your life for the better.
