The American Industrial Revolution
Change American history forever!
The Era Of the Industrial Revolution
The American Industrial Revolution Changed the course of America. It all started in Britian and then developed to America. This changed the way people worked in America.
Child Labor
One of the worst outcomes that came from the Industrial Revolution was child labor. Child labor took away the childhood and education of many children. For example, in the article Children pay high price for cheap labour it states, "... to interfere with the child's education, or to be harmful to the child's health or physical, mental, spiritual, moral or social development" This show how many children were poorly affected by this. But these conditions are so dangerous to children they get disabled as it shows in the article, " Such labour takes an enormous toll on children, in stunted intellectual and physical development, in chronic lung diseases, in ruined eyesight and bone deformations, and sometimes death." Many poor innocent children have become disabled or died because of the Industrial Revolution.
Poor Factory Conditions
The poor factory conditions many people had to work in during this era was horrible. Many people became disabled. got injured, or died. In the Venn Diagram comparing Foxconn Factories vs. american Industrial Revolution Factory Life show that American workers work with dangerous machines. Some members have been murder. You were beaten if you said something that was not wanting to be heard. Lastly it went against the constitution because you would be denied your freedom of speech and many workers have died in jail waiting for trail. The overall working conditions was horrible for the American workers.
Extreme Working Hours
The long hours these poor worker had to many long hours with minimal breaks. In the History Learning site worksheet it states, " I began work at the mill in Brandford when I was nine years old... we began at six in the morning and worked until nine at night. When business was brisk, we began at five and worked until ten in the evening." this shows how they had worked many long hours but on days when work is slow they get a little less hours but still a lot. But with many long work hours they get paid very little money per hour.
Conclusion
The Industrial Revolution can with its pros like inventions, new transportation, and mass production it also can with its cons.Child labor, extreme working hours, and poor factory conditions caused the pain and lives of many children and adult workers. Overall, the industrial revolutions is a con towards America.
