Miss Brown's Bulletin
Week of May 2-6
Leader of the Month
Our LOTM for the month of April is...PARKER! Parker does an excellent job of putting first things first. He has a big classroom job and is always doing it to perfection each day, without me even having to remind him to do so! Parker also strives to be his best by working through tough problems, asking questions and showing persistence. Parker also shows responsibility by always being prepared for school and being honest with himself, his classmates and me. I'm so proud of the growth I've seen in Parker this year. Keep up the AWESOME work!
Ryan's Well
In Language Arts, our most recent unit has been filled with texts that teach the students about water. One of the focuses has been the world-wide need for clean water. Did you know that over 1 billion people are still without clean water today?
We recently read an article about a 1st grade boy who was learning similar content in school but decided to do something about. He worked hard to earn money to build a well in Africa that would provide clean water for those who live there, and with the help of others was able to meet his goal. Now, he has his own foundation and is continuing to help build these wells around the world so the large number of individuals without clean water will decrease.
