Born in 1564-1642
- Galileo studied astronomy and the motion of objects on Earth.
- In 1609, Galileo built a telescope, powerful enough to explore the skies. He found that the moon was not perfect sphere, but had mountains, whose heights he could estimate from the shadows they cast. The moons he observed were those of Jupiter.
- He was one of the ones that argued that Earth and many other planets orbited the Sun.
-He developed a systematic method of observing, experimenting , and analyzing that is now referred to as the Scientific Method.
