Principal's Message
We would like to thank all of our parents and guardians who joined us on our evenings of presentations for "Visit The School Night". It was so wonderful to see such great attendance from our families both physically and virtually in our classrooms.
Creating a collaborative team effort in the best interest of our students is the best way to begin carving a path for their success. We recognize that our families and our staff have quite busy schedules and appreciate the time given to begin creating our partnerships.
As we begin the month of October, we wanted to highlight a few dates for our families. Our first PTO event of the month includes our Dine to Donate at Buffalo Wild Wings (Toms River) on October 6th from 11am- 11pm. School will be closed on Monday, October 11th for Columbus Day. First Marking Period Progress Reports will be open for parents to view on October 15th. It is important for parents to continue to monitor student grades on the Parent Portal through Gradebook and contact their child's teachers if they have any concerns.
We will begin our "Start Strong" NJDOE testing on October 12-15th with a schedule as follows:
October 12th - 8th grade testing ELA and Math
October 13th - 7th grade testing ELA and Math
October 14th - 6th grade testing ELA and Math
October 15th - 6th grade testing Science
October 15th - 22nd - Make-up Testing Window
Also important to note, next week, some of our extra-curricular clubs will be starting. Please see the list attached below for our offered programs. Students should pay attention to our daily morning announcements for the meeting dates and locations of each club. Parents can ALWAYS access our "Daily Announcements" on our school webpage. Please see the link below for access or you can also utilize the QR code provided below.

Our extra curricular club activities will run from 2:20PM - 3:00PM on their assigned day (Monday or Wednesday only). We encourage our parents to pick-up their child(ren) at the end of the club activity. Should a student need to utilize a late bus, late busses will be departing from our school approximately 4:15-4:30PM. Students needing a late bus will remain after their club and will be supervised until our late bus departure. Students' late bus numbers are listed on Parent Portal for families to refer.
Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Wishing all of our families a wonderful weekend,
Mrs. Fronzak

Communities That Care Survey
In partnership with the RWJBarnabas Institute for Prevention and Recovery (IFPR), the Toms River Regional School District is conducting an anonymous youth survey. The survey asks about alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, bullying, school climate, and other predictors of youth problem behavior that impact school safety. The survey costs are paid by the Institute for Prevention and Recovery.
The survey will be given to students in grades six through twelve. No identifying information will be collected on the students who take the survey, and the data will not be shared outside of school district. This survey has been reviewed by school district staff, has been used for many years in schools across the country, and is designed to be appropriate for school aged students.
The results will be used to select and implement tested and effective, evidence-based prevention programs for our students that will reduce substance use, bullying, depression, anxiety, and improve school safety.
If you would like to review the survey questions, a copy is available in my office. Parents/guardians must sign the survey consent form for their child to participate in the survey. The survey is completely voluntary, and students can skip any questions they do not wish to answer. The permission slip for this survey will be available in the Parent Portal beginning Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

A Message from the SAC
Most middle school students will navigate their daily educational journey without a hitch, but what do you do when an issue should arise?
If your child has a misstep, try your best to stay calm. Never focus on what others will think. In fact, you may want to detach yourself from well-meaning friends and social media for a time, as you address your child’s needs. Is your child getting as much attention and support as he/she requires?
Sometimes problems are “by-products” of the company your child keeps. Is your child getting mixed up with others who thrive on acting out?
If your child has a troubling incident at school, remember that school professionals want to get them back on track. Work with them as they try to ensure your child has all the educational support and opportunities they need.
Kids who experience a “bump in the road” at this age are often bored, under-supervised, following the negative behaviors of others and craving outlets. Keeping kids engaged, challenged, and in healthy routines can ensure they stay safe and productive in the middle school years.
If you have any questions or concerns, contact your school SAC at the phone or email address below.
