Manifest Destiny is a term for the attitude prevalent during the 19th century period of American expansion that the United States not only could, but was destined to, stretch from coast to coast.
War for Texas Independence
The Texas Revolution began when colonists in the Mexican province of Texas rebelled against the increasingly centralist Mexican government.
A war fought between the United States and Mexico from 1846 to 1848. The United States won the war, encouraged by the feelings of many Americans that the country was accomplishing its manifest destiny of expansion.
