Mrs. Mayer's Monday Morning Memo

April 4, 2016

Happy April

Next week begins MCA Testing. Please make sure during hallway transitions that your students are as quiet as possible, for those testing. Thank you!!

Staff Development

Tomorrow is another staff development day. The schedule will be sent out today. For elementary, we will be having a staff meeting, then spending the rest of the day on PLC's and orders.

Updates: (All Repeats, this week.)

Update coming soon.

* Summer PD Opportunities: There is still room for more people to attend the MN Summit for Greater Learning and Leading, August 9 and 10. All fees paid and you get the staff development pay. Please let me know if you are interested.

* Drills, Drills, Drills: As we find the year coming to an end, we still have a few lockdown, fire, and tornado drills to complete. Remember: Soft Lockdown is the threat is outside the building. Lock doors and continue your routine. Hard Lockdown is a threat inside the building. Lock doors, shut off lights, and get out of sight.

Observations- Repeat

If you are on the observation list and have not had your last observation, please do a calendar invite asap. Observations should be completed by Thursday, April 7th. Please make sure to schedule your post observation as well. Thank you.

H is for Hourglass

This week is brought to you by the letter H:

Every minute counts, even those minutes "around the edges."

Brief interactions during the passing period and breaks-- those off-hand remarks and nods in the hallway, those extra-curricular events you attend and clubs you run-- they may make all the difference

Each minute spent informally with a student is worth ten hours of class time.
