Fluency
Fluency is a student's ability to read with speed, accuracy, and proper expression. In order to understand what they read, children must be able to read fluently whether they are reading aloud or silently. To increase your student's fluency, he or she needs to practice. Students need time to read to themselves and to others. They also need to hear other people read aloud. Please encourage reading time at home...students reading to younger siblings and older siblings or adults reading to the student. Please, please allow your student to read to YOU!

Give a Leopard a High Five!
The Leopard High Five program is a way for you to salute any Gainesville ISD employee who goes above and beyond what is expected. Whether you are a parent impressed with that special touch your child's teacher added to a moment, or you are a co-worker who thinks the campus PEIMS clerk doesn't hear often enough about the great job she is doing, you can send a Leopard High Five! Nominations can be made by any parent, student, community member, or co-worker and any employee within Gainesville ISD is eligible to receive a High Five. Give lots of High Fives to anyone who has positively impacted your child at school!
The link is located on our website and is always open for nominations.
Mobile app ensures easy access to parent portal
Parent portal is where you completed the online registration, but also is where you can access all of your child's grades, absences, attendance, discipline referrals, and more. You can also subscribe to alerts by email and/or text message for things such as a grade below 90, and average below 80, missing assignments, etc. This helps prevent surprises at progress report and report card time!
