A Message from the Counseling Department

"The theme for the month of May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

The goal of Mental Health Awareness Month is to raise awareness about mental health by educating the public and advocating for policies that support the millions of people in the U.S. affected by mental illness. At Sweetwater Middle School, our goal is to tend to the mental health needs of all students and staff. Join us as we bring about awareness to mental health and wellness. Let's finish the year off strong, keeping mental health and self-care as a focal priority. "

A Message from the Parent Center

Thank you so much for your participation and donations for International Night! Seeing parents and children dancing, clapping, and enjoying the performances that night was a blessing. The food samples were delicious, and we had 15 or more countries represented. Also, I did not get a chance to do the drawing for the gift basket Thursday night or on Friday. The drawing was held this morning for the gift basket. The winner of the gift basket at International Night was Ms. Natarsha Johnson. Congratulations!!!! Your daughter will bring your basket home today.

Also, ESL parents, this is a reminder that there will be an ESL Parent Night on Tuesday, May 9th from 6 PM to 7 PM in the Media Center. The meeting will focus on improving ways to serve your students.

Our English Classes have ended for this school year. We will resume in August.

Thank you for a wonderful year! Check out the video from International Night.

I would like to congratulate the following students for their awesome job at the 6th Grade Honor Band this past Saturday! The students learned 3 brand new pieces of music in one day and performed in a concert with students all around the county. Our students represented Sweetwater incredibly well, and we are very proud of them!
