Quarter 3 Instructional Expectations
Evidenced Based Walkthrough's

For accurate formative assessment results, you will require total class participation to truly be able to tailor your instruction to meet the needs of all students. Please take a look at the resources below on Total Participation strategies and our Q3 Instructional Focus and Success Criteria.

5 Scaffolding Strategies to Bolster Student Learning
Q3 Instructional Focus
PM3 Testing Information
- FSA website has resources available: Scripts, manuals, CBT practice tests for 3rd-6th
- SAT-10 is still an option for students with 3rd Grade Portfolios, good cause, and/or Summer Reading Camp students.
- Kindergarten EOY Test, we make copies for students that need to complete the assessment.
- PM3 schedule will be released within the week, must stay on schedule, 5th Grade Science must test on exact test dates.
- Accommodations must be in Synergy under the "Clay Accommodation page"
- Returning test materials (5th grade science), the bulk of the assessment is computer based. PBT will be sent back as "not to be scored" and the school is responsible for entering the assessment into the platform. We do not have those instructions yet.
- The test will be given in one day and all students "have up to a school day" if needed.
- PM3-We are hoping students are more comfortable after taking PM1 & PM2. Suggestions for scheduling include a "two hour block", then consolidate students still testing. Students would log out, and log in with a new test session ID. It allows students that finnish to move on with their school day.
- All students can have a full school day. K-2, it only doubles time for the questions.
- DOE wants students to finish the test (baseline year)
- Grade 1st & 2nd: Complete STAR Reading & STAR Math, Kindergarten completes: STAR Math & STAR Reading or STAR Early Literacy. How do we compare the scale scores between STAR Reading and STAR Early Literacy? They are comparable.
- 5th Grade Science is a two day test (90 minutes-120 minutes)
- Field Test-Writing for 4th-6th grades. Students with accommodations do not have to participate. This is a secure test and all of the testing paperwork is required. Testing Dates: April 3–21, 2023; One day test, 120 minutes with a 90-minute dismissal option
There is a practice test Computer Based that students can do at school or home:

If a student has not completed PM1 or PM2, this would be helpful as a practice test before PM3.
