Dr. Rachel Williams, Principal
From the Principal
Dear Parents,
Thank you for making the end of the year so special for us. I was very excited to see many of you at class parties. I am sorry I missed a few grade level parties. On Monday, I attended Milton Rotary, and Tuesday, we had Milton High here singing, so I was double booked for some of the week. I apologize if I missed some of you, but wish you a fantastic summer.
Our fifth graders had a spectacular promotion ceremony Tuesday night at Northwestern. I tell you, this is a special group. When practicing, they listened to every word and were so well behaved. I am impressed and thankful for the kids they have grown to become as they leave us!
I want to officially say goodbye to the following staff members:
Becky Blizzard - moving to Nashville, TN
Kristin Zupancic - moving to Costa Rica
Kallie Garvin - going back to school
Beth Nation - transferring to Birmingham Falls Elementary
Craig Russell - moving to Cherokee County
Megan Holcombe - moving to Cherokee County
Emilie Hall - going to work for Jackson Healthcare
Cameron Sylvester - moving to Tampa, FL
Charmi Sandefur - her position was only given to us for one year through Seed Funds
Each of the people above will be missed. Some have been staples in this community for many years and others just began with us this year. Regardless, we wish them all well in their new adventures. They have truly made an impact on our kids and community. We are proud of the new hires we have made coming from Atlanta Public Schools, Cherokee County Schools, and even a new graduate from Florida State. Yes, we hire Seminole graduates!
In closing, I want to wish you a safe and restful summer. As I reflect on this school year, I want to thank you, as always, for your service and commitment to our kids and staff. Parents are the difference maker in this community. I look forward to a little slower pace as we head into summer. Everyone needs a break and time to recharge. Make sure you do just that! I know your summer will take you on many adventures. Right now, I have trips to Chicago and Hilton Head planned, and maybe another one on the horizon before school begins. I hope wherever your travels take you, you enjoy it to the fullest and stay present in the moment with friends and family. See you in August!
