High School Highlights
Weekly Updates from Big Walnut High School
November 20, 2020
Happy Friday! Next week will be a short two-day week and then our staff and students will be off for the Thanksgiving holiday. We hope you are able to enjoy some rest and relaxation with your family during the break and that each of you stays safe and healthy. A reminder, our students will be off on Monday, November 30 for a teacher professional development day. All students will return on Tuesday, December 1 to finish the semester strong.
On behalf of our entire BWHS Staff, we wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!
Second Semester Learning Options-Extended
Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 case numbers and the governor indicating that numbers would be evaluated this week with possible changes to follow, we have decided to leave our 2nd Semester Learning Option Selection Form open through this Sunday, November 22. If you would like to change your child’s learning option for the second semester (switch between in-person learning and our Virtual Learning Program), please visit the front page of our website to complete a form. YOU ONLY NEED TO COMPLETE THIS FORM IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR CURRENT SELECTION.
If you have questions, please email VLP Coordinator Ginna Crawford at ginnacrawford@bwls.net.

Are you picking your child up before the end of the day?
We are doing our best to minimize traffic in our main office this year, so we are asking that you please do not come in to sign out your student, unless otherwise instructed. If your student needs to leave early, when possible, please call the attendance line at least an hour before you hope to pick them up (740-965-7776). This will allow our office staff time to deliver an early dismissal pass to your son or daughter and prevent you from having to wait once you arrive. Or, if you know in advance, you may send a note with them in the morning, giving them permission to sign themselves out and meet you outside in the loop. No student may leave early unless a parent/guardian has given permission. Even if your student is 18, they must have prior approval from a parent or guardian. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
