Olympians to Perform Next Week

Four DW Special Olympians, assisted by nine peer coaches, will showcase their track and field skills during an exhibition performance beginning at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 19. Events will include the softball throw and 50-yard dash. Special Olympic coaches are Alexandra Funk and Anna Healy. For pictures of the practice, please visit the school's Facebook page.

Wright Way Club Fundraiser

Support the Wright Way Club Lemons of Love fundraiser by purchasing Leider Greenhouses gift cards. Twenty percent of your proceeds will go toward a donation to Lemons of Love.


Lemons of Love is an organization focused on supporting anyone impacted by cancer. They deliver chemo care packages, provide programs, and make moments for anyone impacted by cancer.


The fundraiser runs through Friday, May 28. Please purchase the Leider Greenhouses, 1625 Leider Ln, Buffalo Grove, gift cards in the school's RevTrak Web Store.

Color War Service Projects

Congratulations to all Color War teams on their service projects! As a school we raised nearly $1,400 and collected thousands of items for your chosen charities.

DW's student newspaper April issue of the Voice is now available for viewing. Enjoy the prose, articles and thoughts of talented student writers.

Checking Out & Returning Library Books

  • Attention DW Remote Students: The last date to request book delivery is Monday, May 17. The DW Book Bus will make its final deliveries to homes on May 18.

  • All books checked out by eighth-graders need to be returned to Daniel Wright no later than Friday, May 21.

  • Students in Grades 6 and 7 should return all print books to DW on or before Wednesday, May 26.

  • All remote students have the option of returning books during in person testing days May 24-28.

  • The Daniel Wright Book Return box can be found inside the vestibule of Daniel Wright's main entrance. Books may be dropped off between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. weekdays.

  • If you have any DW library books left over from the last school year, please return them to the Book Return box as well!

Road Trip Musical

DW's virtual musical, Road Trip, will be streamed as a YouTube premiere at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 22 on Matthew Clark’s YouTube channel. The musical revue uses songs from other musicals and popular genres and weaves them together into a new story. With guidance from the directors, the script was written entirely by students! The Live Premiere on YouTube begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 22.

Graduation Set for June 2

Two weather dependent in-person graduation celebrations are being planned on June 2, 2021!

  1. First Option, Outdoor: 6:30 p.m. Ceremony in the Stevenson Stadium: All graduates, staff and family members may attend.

  2. Inclement Weather Option Two: 6:30 p.m. Ceremony indoors in the Performing Arts Center for graduates and staff only. Parents will view the celebration via live stream.

  3. Parents should complete the eighth-grade graduation RSVP and ticket order form on or before today, May 14, even if you or your child will NOT be attending the graduation ceremony.


For both venues, a Stuart-Rodgers photographer will take professional photos of our students that can be purchased online after the ceremony. Picture proofs with order forms will be mailed to the student's home.

Board Recognizes Retires, Years of Service & Student Groups

Please join the Board of Education on our YouTube channel at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, as we recognize staff retirees and years of service. At the same meeting, the Board will recognize Daniel Wright student achievements.

Vaccine Clinic to Open in D103

D103 is pleased to announce that a limited availability of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine will be available during a COVID-19 Student/Family/Staff Vaccination Clinic on Sunday, May 23, at Daniel Wright. For more about the clinic, please read the D103 e-notice. Parents of 12-15-year-olds can also schedule their child's vaccine at the Patty Turner Center in Deerfield on May 17, 20, and 24. Returning Student Registration is Underway

Returning student registration for preschool through seventh-grade is now underway. (Students entering kindergarten need not register.) Please register through Unified Classroom. Please visit the D103 Registration website page for necessary documents and for fax cover sheets.
