It has been an awesome week returning to school. Our teachers and staff were excited to welcome our scholars back to school after spring break. This week we celebrated our award winners from the 3rd quarter by recognizing them in our honor's ceremony. We are proud of all of our scholars and the hard work they put in everyday.

This week your child received an "Returning Scholar Confirmation" form. This information helps us in planning for next year. Many of you have returned this to us already. If you have not, please send it to school with your child as soon as possible.

Enrollment for Summer Advantage is open! Are you looking for an excellent summer enrichment program to help scholars maintain their academic skills? PLA@93 is hosting Summer Advantage back in our building this year. This opportunity is open to all of our scholars currently in kindergarten through 5th grade. Current 6th grade scholars can enroll in the summer Advantage program at JRPLA. Programming will take place from June 7th-July 14th. The best part is that this opportunity is completely FREE! IMPORTANT: You must register by next Thursday, April 13th if you want your child to receive transportation for Summer Advantage. Additional information can be found below. Reserve your place today!

The window for parent input on school ESSER funds has re-opened and available for you to complete a survey. If you previously completed an ESSER survey, it is not necessary for you to do again. The window will remain open until June 24th.

Sixth grade parents: You are encouraged to complete the enrollment packet your child brought home. Please consider attending one of the enrollment nights to learn more about our incredible middle school and opportunities for our scholars.

This week's community resource is "Covering Kids and Families of Indiana." Covering Kids and Families provides free, local help for healthcare coverage and insurance needs. Per the state, homeschool and virtual students who qualify for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) will be eligible for P-EBT this year. Schools play no part in the eligibility determination of this group. Please refer inquiries to the P-EBT website for further information. Please use this link P-EBT website for updated information.

The federal public health emergency is scheduled to end on Thursday, May 11. School year P-EBT (based on COVID related absences) will not be calculated after the end of the public health emergency. Benefit issuance may still occur, but days of eligibility will not continue to be counted. For example, if a student misses school Monday, May 15, through Thursday, May 18, due to COVID, they are not eligible for P-EBT for those dates.

This year, PLA 93 has enrolled in the Box Tops for Education program to raise money for our school! Box tops has done away with the traditional box tops clips, but now they have an app where you can scan your receipt and earn points instantly. Box Tops are worth $.10 each and they add up fast! Twice a year, our school receives a check to help pay for whatever we need - equipment, supplies or experiences the kids love! This is a very easy way to earn money for the school. All you have to do is shop, scan, and earn points!
