Endangered Animals
Humpback Whale
Humpback whales are known for their magical songs, which travel for great distances through the world's oceans. These sequences of moans, howls, cries, and other noises are quite complex and often continue for hours on end. Scientists are studying these sounds to decipher their meaning.
Causes/Solutions
Reason for endangerment
The main reason that the Humpback whale is endangered is because of humans. People used to just kill them for their meat and skin, not thinking about how it would affect the whales population.
What is being done
The government has made laws against hunting the Humpback Whale. The only human who is legally allowed to hunt the Humpback whale is the eskimo. The only reason they are allowed to hunt this species is because they rely on the meat. They do have a limited amount they can hunt though.
