Principal's Postings
Welcome to the August 6th, 2021, edition of Southeastern Scene.
Hello Explorers:
It has been an absolute joy hearing our neighborhoods, cottages, playgrounds and classrooms filled with the sounds of new friendships and learning. Thank you to all of our families for coming alongside us in creating a safe and smooth transition into our 2021-2022 school year. We understand that you have taken in a great deal of new information this week, feel free to reach out to your teacher with any clarifying questions that you have.
We would like to share just a few reminders as we head into the weekend:
1. We look forward to meeting you on Monday evening at our Meet The Teacher Night. In addition to the front parking lot, you may also use the back parking lot and enter through door 12. We are on a tight schedule to ensure that all of our families have time with their child’s teacher.
- Monday, August 9th, First and Second Grade Meet The Teacher, 5:45 to 6:15.
- Monday, August 9th, Third and Fourth Grade Meet The Teacher, 6:30 to 7:00.
3. In order to ensure that our students get home safely and where they need to be, it is extremely important that you update your information in Dismissal Manager. Please see additional information about Dismissal Manager below.
Yours in education,
Mrs. Chastain & Mrs. Monkul
Masks and Return to Instruction Plan

Health Forms
Our Individual Health Forms are available on Skyward for next school year. This provides important information to care for your child such as emergency contact info, any allergies/ asthma, permission to give OTC medication if needed, etc. Each year you must go on Skyward and fill out the health form for each of your students enrolled in HSE schools.
Daily Medications
If your student needs to take a daily medication during school hours, please print off and fill out the Student Medication Form found on the HSE district site on “Our District” page under the “Health Service” tab. Please drop off the medication to school prior to the start of school. An adult needs to bring in the medication. Please do not send in the medication with your student.
Severe Allergies, Asthma, Seizures, Diabetes
If your child has any of these health conditions, contact me, and I will talk to you about your child’s needs and give you necessary paperwork for you and your child’s physician to complete.

Leaving early for appointment
If student needs to leave early for any reason, only family and individuals listed on the student's approved Skyward list can pick up the student. Volunteers/Chaperons

Dismissal Manager
All students are assigned to a bus. School Dismissal Manager allows you to indicate that your child will be a bus rider, car rider or go to the YMCA on any given day. The schedule can be set up for an entire semester/school year; but daily and weekly changes can be made. If you need to change your student's dismissal, you will need to log in to your Dismissal Manger account and make the necessary changes by 1:00 pm each day. A list will be generated before the end of the school day with all of the dismissal changes for that day.
Returning parents need to UNINSTALL last year’s App from their phone before installing the new App. The Apps are no longer available in the App Stores. New/Incoming parents will need to add the SDM App to a smartphone, tablet, or web browser via this link. The app is compatible with Android and Apple devices and is free.
You can find Dismissal Manager on our website by visiting ses.hseschools.org and scrolling down to the quick links on the bottom right side of our website, or by clicking this link.
SES Handbook
The Southeastern Elementary handbook has answers to many of your questions regarding policies and procedures for our upcoming school year. The handbook can be found on our website at ses.hseschools.org, or by clicking here.
