May is Mental Health Month: Mental health is wealth, especially during Mental Health Awareness Month, which is celebrated in May. The stigma around mental health and treatment has long existed, even though this has started to change. Still, people hesitate to seek help or even talk about it with their loved ones for fear of being judged and facing unnecessary backlash. Simple logic dictates that if we are hurt anywhere, we must seek treatment to get better. This applies to both our mental- and physical well-being.

Student ID Reminder

Students must have their ID with them at all times while at school. While it has always been important, it is imperative for the lunch process in the coming weeks as our cafeteria staff will be transitioning to a new process where they must scan the students' ID. Keypads to input student ID numbers will no longer be available at lunches. In addition, students must utilize their ID when using TISD bus transportation.

Safety Reminders

The events in Michigan remind us to always have safety and student interventions at the forefront of what we do and to continue bringing awareness to our safety plans.

Linked HERE is a document for you to review with your students regarding the Standard Response Protocol we follow in TISD.
