Anastesia & Beers Law LAB
by Paul Otterson
Aunt Elda died in the hospital. Our group tried to figure out if she died of an overdose of ansastesia.
SETUP & LAB
BEERS LAW: Light absorbance directly varies to amount of particles in the medium that is measured, linearily.
We used Cuvets filled with different concentrations of green food dye in place of anastesia. we would put the samples in a colorimeter to test the absorbance of light.
A deadly dose of anastesia is roughly 65% concentration. Aunt E had a roughly 50% solution. therfore, she couldn't have died from the dose.
