4th Grade News
Week of December 14th
Welcome!
We would like to welcome Constantino Arroyo, a visiting exchange student from Spain, and his family to Saint George's. Constantino will be visiting our class through January. He is eager to make friends and learn all about 4th grade in America.
Field Trip!
We are excited to announce that on January 8th the fourth grade will be travelling to the Chalmette Battlefield to witness a reenactment of the Battle of New Orleans. The students will enjoy period music, watch cannon and musket firings, participate in hands-on activities, and listen to the stories of the men and women of 1815. We will also have the chance to meet " American and British troops" who fought one of the most significant battles in world history and the civilians who kept the home fires burning in New Orleans.
A hot lunch will NOT be provided that day. If your child usually purchases a lunch, a school lunch will be provided. You may also choose to provide your child with lunch that day. We will be taking a bus to the battlefield and return to school in the afternoon in time for dismissal.
Christmas Service
On Thursday morning students are to report to Saint George's Church on Saint Charles Avenue for 8:05 a.m. You will drop your child off to teachers waiting outside. They will rehearse for the evening program. We will be returning to school by bus for a normal school day. That evening the children are to wear their dressy clothes and report to the church for 6:45 p.m. The students will be dismissed after the program to the undercroft of the church, you may pick them up there.
